Transgender Question and Answer Archive

Hi! Can a man get the sex change operation without the fully transformation of becoming a woman. I’ve had this strong urge to “want” a vagina, but still keep my male appearance. There’s not much information about intersex since its rare, most falls into transgender/transexual.

The blending of sexual characteristics by choice is one definition of the word intersexual, but other definitions exist.

Yes, it is possible for a man to medically achieve what you desire, but the process is complex. Try contacting a gay/lesbian community service center like the ones typically found in major U.S. cities such as New York, San Francisco, or Los Angeles for a referral to a medical doctor who is sensitive to your needs.

You are not the only male who desires having a vagina while maintaining a masculine outward appearance, and I am not shocked by your desire in the least. I know of a gentleman who once shared the exact same desire, and I am pleased to tell you that his desire has already turned into a reality. He loves having a vagina; he couldn’t be happier; he wouldn’t change a thing.

I wish you fair winds and following seas.

Thanks for the question. Check out www.gender.org. If you read their About page you will see that they serve our diverse community. I would also study as many SRS websites that you can find, to learn as much as you can about the latest and safest procedures. The medical procedures are advancing rapidly in this field thanks to our very brave and courageous Transgender/Transsexual community, who are leading the way. Look at their websites to learn about the best possible options available. Education is in your best interest so you don't end up with a full penectomy, when all you needed was a partial.
