I am a 15 year old guy who lives in a small country town. I am not sure about how many people in my school year know that i am gay but i wouldn’t be surprised if they all knew. It’s not like people will be violent towards me if they did know because a surprising amount of people are gay, lesbian or bi at my school any way. I am in a relationship and when I was talking to a group of guys, one of whom has been my friend since pre-school even though we aren’t best friends anymore. Anyway that friend asked me if i went out with the guy i am going out with because apparently he saw us holding hands in the playground even though we weren’t. I said “How did you know” and pretty much word spread. At the time i was thinking “who cares what they think, it doesn’t change anything I’m still the same as any of those guys except for the bedroom preference” and I still act the same way around them as I always have. But now I am a bit unsure about…well everything. And I am starting to think that maybe I shouldn’t have done it. No one has been violent or hostile towards me. There is of course the occasional taunt or joke but it doesn’t really bother me. I guess I have no question all I really need is some advice on the subject if you have any. Thanks.
