I am a married straight woman. One of my best friends, a straight guy, revealed to me recently that he cross dresses. As he explained it to me, it’s just something he has to do. He favors tutus. Hee hee. Anyway, my and circle of friends are all “gay friendly”, and often go to public LBGT events. I have no close gay friends who I feel comfortable asking this question, so I thought I would ask you all… Here’s my question: How does the gay population generally feel about straight cross dressers? He is under the impression that he would not we well liked by gay people.

The LGBTQ community is like the straight community in that we are a diverse group, and there are bigots and intolerants among us as well. In general, you will find that most us are tolerant. If he truly is straight, and not just straight living a double life, then I would think he would have no problem. Acceptance and sexuality is such a complicated topic, it is hard to pass judgement on someone's preference.
