I can’t understand what is going on. I am a straight woman who recently started frequenting a cafe where the owner is a very good looking gay man. His business partner is also his personal partner. The handsome one, X, started paying me a lot of attention. We’ve discovered we have a lot in common and are very alike. Soon I noticed he was talking about me to strangers. He likes to touch me, as in sitting next to me with his thigh pressed up against mine. For my birthday he wrote and sang a song to me at my party. He has posted pics of me on his FB page, bragged about me to other customers, etc. But although he has said we are “friends,” he very seldom texts or calls me, and will not communicate with me on FB anymore. His partner, Y, is very friendly to me in front of my friends but when I talk to him without them around he is cold and distant. So…if X is gay, why does Y have a problem with us being friends? And why would X bring a “chaperone” along with us when we went to an event together? Do I not understand how this gay thing works, or what?
